Job Functions:
- Prepares and processes all referral paperwork.
- Gathers pertinent information from physicians, nurse practitioners and nursing staff to complete referrals.
- Researches health plan to identify preferred in-network providers and requirements for referral authorization; provides supporting documentation to health plan, as needed.
- Contacts various offices/facilities to obtain necessary appointments for completing referrals.
- Responds to patient inquiries regarding health plan referrals.
- Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- Medical Referral Experience
- 2-3 years of hands-on healthcare experience in a clinical setting, preferably within the Medicare population
- Experience with EMRs (Electronic Medical Records) / Medical Records
- Proficient with medical terminology
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Excellent professional communication abilities, at all levels within the organization and with patients, at all times
- This role is considered patient facing and is part of the company's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB
Job Type: Contract
Salary: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

- Plant City, FL 33563: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Experience:
- Insurance verification: 1 year (Preferred)
- Medical billing: 1 year (Preferred)
