Summary – Working in the field of high-tech electronics aerospace manufacturing, the Regional Sales Manager will be an experienced avionics sales professional with direct sales responsibilities while developing and managing key accounts and Universal Avionics’ authorized distribution network in the US Southeast.
The ideal candidate has a solid expertise and experience in the sale of complex electronic solutions, a strong affinity for customer engagement, and the desire to develop sales in the US Southeast by developing new accounts and fostering collaboration with the aftermarket sales team and the distribution network. The successful candidate will be comfortable with all facets of sales, from expanding market reach and connecting with new customers to maintaining and developing existing accounts through better penetration and a larger portfolio.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned

  • Be the first point of contact with Universal Avionics for new equipment sales in the designated region.
  • Accountable to achieve annual sales objectives for the designated region.
  • Develop, nurture and expand relationships with Universal Avionics’ authorized distribution network.
  • Develops sales opportunities by researching and identifying prospects, identifying their needs and requirements, building rapport, disseminating technical information and explanations on potential solutions, and preparing quotations.
  • Where appropriate, complement sales by cross-selling recurrent services such as connectivity, extended warranty, etc.
  • Report on new business opportunities and market trends to include documentation in the CRM system.
  • Represent the company at industry events and tradeshows and maintain an active role in industry organizations and advocacy groups.

To be successful in this role, the Regional Sales Manager will demonstrate:

  • Success in a sales role working for a company that sells products with substantial technical complexity, predominantly through distribution channels or directly to end users.
  • A motivation to break through organizational barriers to reach new prospects, gain access to decision makers, and secure introductions.
  • An ability to establish strong cross cultural working relationships, enabling effective collaboration with key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Creativity, self-motivation, and an ability to take initiatives to meet tight deadlines.
  • A natural ease in qualifying prospects and closing sales.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10 to 15 years of experience in customer facing roles, with at least 5 to 10 years in a sales role.
  • Prior knowledge of Universal Avionics and / or Elbit Systems products is an asset. Training on company product lines will nonetheless be required after hiring.
  • Unrestricted ability to travel as much as 50% of the time, primarily within the territory.
  • Maintain and manage a home office base.
  • *Education and/or Experience
  • Experience in customer facing roles, predominantly in a sales capacity.
  • A technical degree complemented with a degree or experience in business or marketing is desired. Holding a private or commercial pilots license are desirable assets.
  • Background in the aviation industry is highly desirable.
