DESCRIPTION

Lehigh University Autism Services implements applied behavior analysis through natural environment teaching strategies to teach communication, behavioral, and social skills for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.

This is a part time position with hourly work up to 25 hours per week. Flexible schedule desired to work morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend hours as needed.

Position Summary:

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) functions primarily as a direct instructor of autism specific individualized interventions utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). RBT will be supervised by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and will work in conjunction with doctoral and masters students in School Psychology and Special Education.

Essential Job Functions:

• Responsible for implementation of skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs using ABA principles, as designed by the supervising BCBA.
• Implements programming in one to one or settings in the clinic, home, daycares, schools, and in the community.
• Collects, records and graphs data to track client progress in a timely manner.
• Completes attendance records and session notes on an online management system in a timely manner.
• Organizes and creates instructional materials.
• Participates in training related to applied behavior analysis and autism as requested by the supervising BCBA
• Attends supervision meetings on an as-needed basis (schedule to be determined).
• Works collaboratively and demonstrates a professionalism with colleagues, supervisors, related service providers, and families.
• Is receptive and responsive to supervision and feedback regarding job performance from supervisors and families.
• Is punctual and reliable, showing up on time for each scheduled session.
• Communicates and receives authorization from the supervisor for shift changes, vacations, and missed sessions.
• Ability to travel within 30 miles of Lehigh University.

POSITION REQUIRMENTS

Minimum Qualifications:

• Applicants must be 18 years or older.
• High School diploma or national equivalent from an appropriately accredited institution is required; college degree is preferred.
• Preferred experience in Education, Child Development, Psychology or Applied Behavior Analysis.
• Experience working with individuals with autism and their families preferred.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Ability to work with staff, participants, families, and caregivers in a professional and concerned manner.
• Must possess unrestricted, state appropriate driver’s license and current vehicle insurance.
• NOTE: RBT Certification is preferred however we may offer training to promising and otherwise qualified applicants.
• Must be able to submit the clearances (FBI Fingerprinting, PATCH, and PA Child Abuse Clearance), and training certificates (PA Mandated Reporting Training and First Aid) upon request.

PAY

Beginning $15/hour, potential opportunity for increase and full-time employment.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
