Education/Experience Requirements

Required: Graduate of an accredited associate degree. 1+ year of RN experience is required
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from accredited nursing program or higher degree

Licensure/Certification Requirements

Required: Current New York State licensure as a Registered Nurse
Preferred: Basic Life Support Certification

Core Job Responsibilities

• Identify patient care requirements establish a personal rapport with patients and families and understand a plan of care throughout the patient’s experience.
• Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
• Promote patient independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patients, friends, and family to understand the disease process, medications, and self-care skills, and providing time to answer questions.
• Assure quality care by adhering to therapeutic standards measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards, making, or recommending adjustments to the patient’s needs.
• The nurse is responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and determines the appropriate delegation of tasks consistent with the nurse's obligation to provide optimum patient care
• Document patient care service by charting patients’ medical records accurately and in timely accordance with licensure, and regulatory hospital standards.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among the healthcare team by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving.

Due to the new New York Pay Transparency Law, the salary posted in the ad is based on years of experience. This varies based on experience, and any union/non-union positions may vary in this range.
