We are seeking a Registered Nurse with a strong background in patient care and orthopedic injuries for performing patient triage and nursing assessment of patients by telephone according to clinic protocols and standards of nursing practice. Applicants must be self motivated and highly professional individuals who want to work in a fast paced, high energy environment. Effective communication skills and sound clinical judgement with patient care issues is imperative for success. Operating room experience preferred, but not required.

Job responsibilities and Duties:

• Performing patient triage and nursing assessment of patients by telephone according to clinic protocols and standards of nursing practice
• Consulting with patients and other health care providers by telephone to evaluate a patient's condition
• Addressing patient concerns and questions as well as relaying critical information to physician for direction and resolution of concerns
• Arranging referrals for specialty care, urgent or emergent care at the direction of the physician/provider
• Instructing patients in home self-care (in accordance with clinic protocols, patient education materials, and standards of nursing practice) when an immediate clinic evaluation is not necessary. Instructing patients to come to the clinic as necessary. Consulting with the nurse manager or provider when there is a question about the severity of the problem or the need for immediate attention.
• May relieve or fill in for the nurse manager or other nursing staff as necessary

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
• Valid Nursing License
• Operating room experience preferred, but not required. Willing to provide training
• CPR certification
• Ability to pass drug screen and background check
• Sufficient strength to assist with transferring patients using body mechanics
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule and to fill in when needed
• Working knowledge of health care laws and regulations
