OTHER: *Posted Hiring Salary includes the sum of statutory hiring rate and Mid-Hudson Adjustment of ($1,513). The Mid-Hudson Adjustment ($1,513) is also added to job rate.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Rehabilitation Assistant 2 (RA2) at the Amenia Program Center ensures the continuation of prevocational services and employment opportunities for individuals who are returning to district from the ITO's and is essential for providing opportunities for employment to special populations and high behavior needs individuals who cannot be served by voluntary agency programs. The primary responsibility of the RA 2 at the Amenia Day Program is to directly supervise the prevocational job opportunities for individuals from the local IRA's, this includes direct participation in all work crews, providing training and supervision for all individuals in the program.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Explore new employment and volunteer opportunities for the individuals.
  • Complete hourly wagedeterminations in a timely manner at least twice annually and submit them to the Rehabilitation Counselor 2 (RC2)
  • Participate in time studies as needed or directed by RC2.
  • Attend all meetings for assigned IRA individuals and complete all necessary documentation.
  • Complete pre-vocational notes and summaries
  • Complete HCBS wavier requirements annually and submit to RC2 and DDPS1.
  • Complete invoices for all Amenia Day Program contracts.
  • Complete annual FICA recertification's and eligibilities.
  • Attendance and billing reports for individuals in the pre-Voc and Day Hab areas
  • Other duties as assigned

NOTE: You must have a valid driver’s license to apply as travel is a part of the duties involved in this position. This may include a state-owned vehicle, as available, or the employee’s own car. An employee who uses his/her own car will be reimbursed at current negotiated rates.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Permanent Qualifications:

· Rehabilitation Assistant 1: Candidates must currently be a permanent Rehabilitation Assistant 1 OR be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list.(Paraprofessional Careers in Mental Hygiene)

· Rehabilitation Assistant 2: Candidates must currently be a permanent Rehabilitation Assistant 2 OR be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list.

OR

Transfer Qualifications:

· Rehabilitation Assistant 1: Candidates must be eligible for transfer into a Rehabilitation Assistant 1 title. Eligible titles would include:

Dental Hygienist Direct Support Assnt

Developmental Assnt 1 Licensed Practical Nurse

Developmental Assnt 2 Senior Licensed Practical Nurse 1

DDSCTA 1 Senior Licensed Practical Nurse 2
