Overview
The prime objective of the Reliability Coordinator is to drive the reliability centered maintenance process and oversee the inspection, planning, scheduling and the coordination of maintenance as well as, improvement related activities in the most safe, reliable and cost effective manner possible. This is accomplished through the use of inspection, planning and scheduling practices while taking into consideration the production requirements of the plant. The Reliability Coordinator reports directly to the Maintenance Manager. The Reliability Coordinator will have three Maintenance Inspectors and one Vibration Technician as direct reports
Roles & Responsibilities
- Partners with Production, Quarry, Process and Shipping to specify weekly downtime requirements and define interaction required between the different operation groups.
- Drives the planning and scheduling processes of all major maintenance shutdowns throughout the year and assists the Maintenance Manager in the development of the yearly department budget, manages and follows up once approved.
- Leads the Reliability Centered Maintenance Process which includes: RCA s, FMEA Review, Spare Part identification and review, and improvement analysis.
- Owns and maintains the PM Process based on RCM to include Condition Monitoring (lube, vide, wear measurements, etc.)
- Responsible for the Lubrication Budget.
- Assists with the selection and supervision of contractors.
- Daily communication with staff and crews for the day-to-day requirements
- Contributes to monitoring and ensures relevance of the Master Preventive Maintenance Schedule by ensuring the even distribution of preventive maintenance throughout the year and leads the updating of PM routines as deemed necessary by equipment upgrades and modifications.
- Ensures preventive maintenance and inspection programs are relevant and technically adequate.
- Ensures adequate documentation of historical work orders are kept in such a manner that it can be used for analysis which may include, but is not limited to activities such as follow up, upgrade requirements, troubleshooting and budget preparations. Both historical and machinery parts information shall be kept updated in the computerized maintenance management system (Maximo) and additionally filed, as deemed necessary, in the maintenance equipment files.
- Support the planning and scheduling process by helping to solicit Mechanical, Electrical, Production, Process, and Quality Departments requirements.
- Support coordination and tracking of the yearly maintenance shutdown tasks in order to ensure timely and efficient completion of work within the defined critical path.
- Maintains the mechanical backlog ensuring work orders are up to date and kept live as required; providing information as to the status and scheduling requirements of the same.
- Ensures entering of new equipment numbers and ensures the updating of equipment parts catalog.
- Initiates, authorizes and schedules routine contract work and is responsible for ensuring administrative functions for appropriate cost control are in place, such as providing the scope of work to the vendor and approving purchase order requisitions and maintaining a cost control spread sheet for budget control purposes.
- Must have knowledge of the work order tracking, spare parts catalog, requisitioning and inventory systems as well as compatibility with other software packages as required.
- Ensures that specifications written for the purchase of spare parts are relevant.
- Assists the Maintenance Manager in implementing action plans and other problems associated with safety and reliability to avoid reoccurrences.
- Communicates the maintenance KPI s on a monthly basis, analyzes them and suggests ways to improve performance.
- Assists the Maintenance Manager to ensure function of the workflow as established by the department.
- May be asked to provide relief coverage for other members of the maintenance or production department and be on-call to cover mechanical problems which occur evenings and weekends.
- Provide leadership to the organization in the implementation of maintenance tools, systems organization and 5S implementation.
- Be the liaison with all other departments.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum of a Bachelor s Degree in Science in Mechanical, Electrical or other Engineering discipline and possess at least 5 years experience in a related industry.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with a computerized maintenance management system such as MAXIMO.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally, in writing and through presentations
- Must be able to work as a part of a team to ensure continuous improvement in the functional area as well as the overall plant operations.
- Must be able to meet on-call responsibilities in a 24/7 operation.
- Must have excellent leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Maintenance Reliability leadership experience in the Cement Industry
- 3+ years of supervisory experience
- Maximo experience
- Vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography, ultrasonics, certification or other preventative maintenance certification
