    • All hardware failure modes will be considered in the analysis
    • For each postulated failure mode, potential failure causes will be identified and documented

    • The FMEA will include assessment of system/subsystem interfaces within the element, between elements, and with the payload and ground systems
    • For each failure mode, the FMEA will describe how the occurrence of the failure mode can be directly or indirectly detected during each applicable mission phase
    • For each failure mode that is not criticality 3, a qualitative estimate of the time from failure occurrence to manifestation of the worst-case failure effect will be provided, as well as a qualitative estimate of the time from failure initiation to when the failure is detectable
    • For each failure mode that is not criticality 3 and can be detected and confirmed, the FMEA will describe actions required to mitigate or prevent the effects of the failure
    • The FMEA will consider mission timeline events, as a minimum, when documenting failure modes and effects
    • The FMEA will consider mission timeline events, as a minimum, when documenting failure modes and effects
