Role Overview
We are looking for:
The Polymer Technician will be responsible for their own sub-projects within the Thermoplastic Composite (TPC) product development (PD) team. They will be responsible for running experiments, generating data, and (with the help of product development scientists as needed) interpreting data to determine next steps.
We count on you for:
- Work with the product development team on scouting future composite products
- Work with Scientists and group management to decide project direction
- Lead product development sub-projects
- Lead efforts in continual improvement of processes
- Designing and engineering solutions
- Assist others in the team with PD objectives
- Document and maintain accurate records of all testing and results in a lab book (physical or electronic)
- Read, understand, and follow methods, SOPs, work instructions, safety requirements/policies, regulatory guidelines, and company policies
- Ensure that health and safety procedures are adhered to and that considerations are given to improve safe working practices and take reasonable care for oneself and others who may be affected by one’s acts or omissions
You will bring:
- Minimum Associate’s Degree or Technical Certificate/Diploma in related field such as engineering or chemistry
- 3-5 years relevant experience in polymer compounding, processing, and characterization
- Experience in chemical or plastics industry is preferred
- Composite and/or thermoplastic composite related experience is preferred
- Knowledge of operation and maintenance of polymer extrusion and industrial/mechanical equipment preferred
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across multiple groups and functions
- High attention to detail and ability to observe and adjust processes and experiments as they progress
- Demonstrated problem solving ability and capability to identify improvements to current processes
You will get:
- Competitive salary and benefits package
- The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $60,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
