Roadway Testing Technician Job at Universal Engineering Sciences
Overview:
Contour Engineering, a Universal Engineering Sciences (UES) has an opening in our Construction Services Department. UES is a nationwide leader in Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Materials Testing and Inspection, Building Code Compliance, Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety, and Building Envelope.
As a Roadway Testing Technician, you will be responsible for in-the-field testing of concrete, soils, and other construction materials. Candidates that are successful in this field enjoy working the majority of the time in a construction setting outdoors. They are also highly dependable and possess the ability to work independently. 2+ years of experience is necessary along with a Georgia Department of Transportation(GDOT) Roadway Testing Technician (RTT) and either ACI Level 1 Concrete Technician or GDOT concrete certification. A GDOT Quality Control Testing (QCT) Level 1 certification would be desirable.
Job Responsibilities
- Travel to various job sites in a company provided vehicle
- Perform sampling and testing on construction materials, such as concrete, soils and asphalt
- Document field activity and report the findings to clients and supervisors
- Communicate with various field personnel and colleagues
Job Requirements
- You must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED
- 2+ Years of experience
- RTT and ACI or GDOT Concrete Certification required, QCT Level 1 Desired
- You will need a valid driver's license with an acceptable record
- Working with concrete will require you to have the ability to lift 50-75 pounds repeatedly with or without accommodations
- Have to ability to read, write, and use a computer effectively
