What You’ll Do: Responsible for transporting, delivering, and disposing of waste and recycling materials as scheduled and directed in a safe, efficient, and productive manner while operating a Roll-Off truck with a gross vehicle weight greater than 26,000 pounds.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare for daily assignments by inspecting the vehicle and equipment.
- Spot and pick up loads at customer designated locations
- Secure loads to prohibit spills or flying debris while in transit to the landfill, MRF, transfer station, or other disposal facility
- Complete required paperwork and review for accuracy.
- Check vehicle prior to leaving the yard and upon returning to the yard to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Note any vehicle defects and report needs for repair.
- Maintain an acceptable professional appearance and highest standard of conduct while engaging with customers.
- Remain flexible regarding assignments and other duties and exhibits a cooperative effort and teamwork in working with fellow drivers and other employees.
- Maintain cleanliness of the truck cab and help to maintain the truck and upkeep of the yard area.
- Responsible for maintaining complete and accurate trip details and communicating those details to dispatch and office staff efficiently.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess a non-expired Commercial Driver’s License with no restrictions (CDL A or B) - required
- CDL with Air Brake endorsement preferred
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
- 1 year of heavy diesel truck driving experience.
- Ability to read and write legibly and keep detailed records of work performed.
- Must have a "Safety First" attitude
- Ability to remain focused in a fast-paced work environment.
- Self-driven, disciplined, and dependable.
