The primary purpose of this position is to interpret and apply a variety of human resources policies, guidelines and procedures as they relate to all major functions of the position. This position serves as the hub for the section, managing two email service accounts through which all routine requests and actions assigned to the section are received. Proper handling and distribution of these requests makes this position critical to the overall operation and success of the Salary Administration section. Subject position is responsible for ensuring back-up staff are trained and ready to step in at a moment’s notice. The strength of this position lies not only in the critical nature of its duties, but also in the variety and scope of policy and procedures knowledge for all areas of responsibility involving providing Salary Administration support, payroll action processing, and Records management and confidentiality.

This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule. Any telework will be under the conditions of the state Teleworking Program Policy and the employer may end any telework arrangement at any time at the employer’s sole discretion.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits including retirement, health insurance, vacation leave, sick leave, and paid holidays.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

  • Ability to effectively communicate with other staff and the general public in verbal and written form.
  • Ability to comprehend and abide by policies, procedures and directives, both written and verbal affecting job duties.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve individual issues for assigned tasks/actions to incorporate review of policy and evaluation of best solution, in accordance with law and policy.
  • Ability to operate standard office machines including but not limited to personal computer, electronic scanner, copiers and fax machines.
  • Ability to review completed tasks to ensure accuracy and integrity of information.
  • Excellent typing skills and computer knowledge, including Integrated Human Resources/Payroll System and MS Office applications.
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments order to multi-task and meet deadlines and performance standards.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,788.00 - $62,628.00 per year
