Job Summary :

Responsible for commercial activities on assigned business unit projects and customers. Obtains customer acceptance of quotes for profitable business through data driven negotiation and persuasion.
Ensures commercial requirements and technical considerations are properly considered in initial quotes and all subsequent changes. Interfaces daily with external and internal personnel in various functions to coordinate and execute a variety of tasks required to fulfill the following duties and responsibilities.

Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Maintain key customer relationships within purchasing and engineering, providing excellent customer service and timely responses to inquiries
  • Identify, pursue, and drive new sales opportunities with assigned customers and regularly report on outlook and status to management
  • Understands and relays customer deliverables and the translation of customer inputs/needs into design solutions
  • Ensure consistent communication of commercial information to the customer
  • Prepare responses to RFQs including offer letters, customer breakdowns, and other necessary documents.
  • Develop and prepare cost calculations in collaboration with a cross functional team and gain management approval for new quotations and engineering changes
  • Track cost changes versus budgets for tooling, development, and parts throughout program life cycle
  • Understand and utilize material indexing programs at assigned OEMs
  • Initiate invoicing and tracking of one-time payments as appropriate (tooling, development, etc.)
  • Complete reports including but not limited to order intake, profitability, sales, projections
  • Complete semiannual sales planning for assigned customers, including volumes, prices, annual reductions, estimated pricing for targets, and support creation of bridge analysis

Education & Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from an ABET accredited institution in engineering or technology; or at least four years of technical sales, field sales, or cost estimation experience (sales engineering , cost estimation, or professional consulting experience preferred).
  • Ability to persuade and influence others. Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques.
  • Maintain professional appearance and provide a positive company image to the public and clients.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent planning and organization skills required.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Outlook, Internet software and Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Processing software.
  • Must have basic knowledge or training of lean manufacturing, 5S, manufacturing plant safety, communication systems, as well as quality, materials, and environmental standards (e.g. ISO 14001) and policies

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,417.35 - $80,000.00 per year
