The Sales Manager plans, implements and executes to the sales program. Depending on level of the applicant’s experience, the Sales Manager may also have supervisory responsibilities or may assist with recruitment and training of new employees. The key role of the Sales Manager is to develop, establish, execute, and assess a selling program that helps GLC Minerals achieve its sales projections and revenue goals. This is a remote position with home office based in Wisconsin.

Sales Manager Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of customer base and market knowledge and budgeting.
  • Executes to goal by delivering sales.
  • Builds consultative relationships with customers to value sell products and services.
  • Identifies potential new geographic markets.
  • Identifies and analyzes customer preferences to properly direct sales efforts.
  • Works with Customer Service, Operations and Quality to proactively meet customer expectations.
  • Works collaboratively to resolve customer complaints and improve processes related to efficient sales operations.
  • Collaborates with VP of Sales and Marketing Managers to develop sales quotas and marketing strategies.
  • Coordinates marketing communications with the R&D Manager and the Marketing Manager.
  • Ability to host and attend after-hours events such as dinners and weekend tailgates.
  • Represents GLC Minerals at trade association meetings with the ability to speak technically on animal nutritional with animal nutritionists and veterinarians as well as dairy producers.
  • Use of CRM and Microsoft Office tools required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • This position is responsible for building sales and maintaining key accounts.
  • The sales process includes managing prospects through the sales funnel as well as serving established accounts and increasing sales volume.

Sales Manager Requirement:

  • Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Animal Nutrition, Animal Health, or related fields.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in agriculture or related field.
  • The ideal candidate possesses a proven sales record of five or more years in the fields of animal nutrition, animal health or feed production.
  • A strong technical knowledge of dairy, egg production and pet food is preferred.
  • The successful candidate will have a strong desire to succeed, negotiation skills (including pricing), ability to grow and build strong relationships and is experienced with value selling
  • Travel up to 70% including driving and travelling by airplane.
  • Prolonged periods of driving, sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times and other activities associated with trade show booth set up and logistics.
