Works closely with key stake holders, including business users, sales leadership, the technical product owner, and the system administrator to align technology solutions with best practices that meet the business needs. Owns and is accountable for the Salesforce roadmap, manages all feature and system enhancements, in tandem with the technical product owner. Seeks to understand user groups’ needs and experiences and optimizes the technology investments in alignment with user and business needs. Defines business-user training, and is a leader in all planning, development and discussions surrounding the sales technology needs. Provides ongoing support to business users, building and maintaining process documentation and creating dashboards, reports and workflows that provide meaningful and actionable insights for our sales force.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Business Leader
Collaborates with business team and technical product owner to define, manage, and prioritize the feature backlog.
Works cross-functionally with other business process owners to ensure changes to Salesforce and other sales systems will meet or exceed business expectations.
Performs fit/gap analyses between business requirements and out-of-the-box features of Salesforce.
Participates in the planning and analysis of business requirements for system changes and enhancements.
Translates business requirements into creative, secure, and effective technical designs.
Maintains current working knowledge of the Sales Cloud, AppExchange solutions, and seasonal Salesforce releases, leverages the updates applicable to the business and out-of-the-box features and thoughtfully designs configurations to maximize user efficiency and minimize ongoing maintenance costs.
Acts as the Salesforce SME and participates in all planning, development, and discussion.
Processes/operations/improvements
Designs, builds, and maintains key documentation regarding our Salesforce business processes, workflows, and business requirements.
Analyzes existing processes, fields and layouts and configures changes in line with Salesforce best practices and proactively identifies and recommends potential optimization and automation opportunities.
Collaborates with stakeholders to perform business analysis, discovery of features and initiatives to enhance existing tools and streamline processes.
Day to Day Administration
Manages workflows, processes, configuration, reporting, dashboards, and general end user assistance for Salesforce instance.
Works with the Sales teams to build reports, dashboards and workflows that align to business requirements and provides meaningful and actionable insights for our sales force.
End User Acceptance Testing
Tests new features and processes thoroughly to ensure the user experience matches defined business requirements.
Develops and executes user acceptance plans and testing scripts for business and functional requirements with other key stakeholders.
Facilitates business team User Acceptance sessions, documents user feedback, and manages change requests.
Training and Change Management
Works to identify training needs, produces training content and supports training efforts on features and improvements.
Responds to user requests related to functionality, how-to questions, and feature activation / tuning.
Trains sales leaders and stakeholders on the capabilities and limitations of Salesforce, and how it can most effectively and efficiently meet their needs.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Business Analytics, Computer Information Systems, or similar field
2-3 years of experience in a highly analytical role
2+ years’ experience in the administration, testing, or maintenance of Salesforce required.
Salesforce Admin certification preferred.
Salesforce Business Analyst certification preferred.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Strong communication, presentation, and storytelling skills with all audiences
Skills and Abilities
Ability to coach process creation/management and documentation to allow for standardized support procedures throughout the team.
A high level of intellectual curiosity and comfort with ambiguity
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and executives, aligning their activities around a set of best practices.
