SAT & TOEFL Summer Teacher (4 weeks 7/10/23 - 8/4/23) Job at CATS Academy Boston
CATS Academy Boston is an international residential high school located in the Town of Braintree, a leafy suburb of Boston, MA.
During the summer we offer programs to students to develop their knowledge of specific subjects, universities and careers whilst gaining an insight into the American education system and an understanding of applying to U.S. universities.
One of our most popular programs is the 2 week Ivy League Preparation Program. This program is designed for non-native ELL/ESL students.
The course will combine lessons, lectures, workshops and visits to enable students to thoroughly prepare their US College applications and aim for the IVY League. Lessons will develop each of the four language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing in the context of the TOEFL exam. Opportunities to develop knowledge of vocabulary and grammar will also be incorporated.
There is a focus on the SAT exam and students will have the opportunity to analyse typical questions and practise active listening and essay writing skills. Lectures will cover areas to support students in choosing the correct university path including financial planning and scholarships. Workshops are designed to help participants develop their confidence and personal skills and take a targeted approached to completing applications.
We are looking for a teacher who will take complete ownership of the program and to make the learning meaningful, creative and fun. There will be logisitcal support from the summer program management team as well as the CATS Academy College Counselling Department.
