South Portland High School seeks a dynamic, student-centered, collaborative school counseling professional to serve our racially, linguistically, and economically diverse student body.The successful candidate will join our School Counseling Department in supporting the academic, social and emotional, and career and college planning needs of students in grades 9-12. This position is engaged in all aspects of the high school counseling program including individual counseling, classroom work, large group presentations, post-secondary planning, 504 facilitation, consultation with parents and staff, and crisis intervention and referrals. Flexibility, desire, and the enthusiasm to help SPHS continue to improve are required, as is the appropriate Maine State certification.The South Portland School District is committed to creating a diverse environment.
