Blazerworks, a leading educational services provider, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) for an extended school year position in Evanston, IL. As a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, you will play a vital role in empowering students with hearing impairments to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction and support to students with hearing impairments in a specialized educational setting during the extended school year.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.
• Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and tools to enhance learning outcomes for students with hearing loss.
• Collaborate with other professionals, including speech therapists, audiologists, and classroom teachers, to create a comprehensive educational experience for students.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes students' social and emotional well-being.
• Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and reports.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.
• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in the state of Illinois (or eligibility for certification).
• Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a school setting.
• Knowledge of various communication modalities, including American Sign Language (ASL) and assistive listening devices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and fellow educators.
