Your Role:

AtMilliporeSigma,the Scientist willevaluate products according to established protocols, provide technical support to others,and perform operations in support of the group and department.
  • Safely perform operations,ensuring qualityexpectations are metthroughout the process
  • Perform multi-disciplined, complex and establishedassays, primarily thoserequiringa higher level of technical skill and knowledge. Major assay types include - PCR, ELISA, Enzyme kinetics, cell culture based tests, and hematology/histology
  • Complete the volume of work required to achieve group/departmental goals and meet deadlines
  • Contribute to support functions of the lab (e.g., maintain equipment, prepare reagents, restock lab supplies, waste disposal)
  • Communicate the status of operations and bring deviations to the attention of a supervisor
  • Provide complete and accurate records, consistent with quality guidelines
  • Ensure all logbooks have been completed, according to current SOPs
  • Participate in quality audits
  • In compliance with change control procedures,apply advanced scientific knowledgeandexperiencetotroubleshoot problematic assays
  • Identifyand lead the implementation ofprocess improvements
  • Provide technical guidance duringroot cause and customer complaint investigations
  • Take the necessary action to resolve any unsafe conditions
  • Write and modify procedures consistent with quality guidelines and review other procedures as requested
  • Review work performed by other scientists for completeness and accuracy prior toproduct release
  • Train personnel and provide technical consultation for less experienced scientists


Physical Attributes:
  • Wear personal protective equipment, such as a respirator or chemical protective clothing for extended periods
  • Push and/or lift up to 80 pounds


Who YouAre:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor'sDegree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering or other life sciencediscipline with 3+ years of direct lab experienceworking with a variety of molecular, immuno, and cell-based assay systems OR High School Diploma/GED with 15+ yearsof direct lab experienceworking with a variety of molecular, immuno, and cell-based assay systems


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability tomanage ProcessImprovement projects
  • Ability to resolve technical issues within cross-functional teams
  • Experience training less experienced scientists
