How will you make an impact?
The Science & Technology Team (STT) is passionate about developing end-to-end, standardized workflows and assays to support nucleic acid, viral vector, and cell therapy cGMP manufacturing. The Scientist II Cell Therapy will be responsible for being part of a robust technical team proficient in advanced cell culture and manipulation using robust platforms that ease the path towards GMP manufacturing of Cell therapies. The motivated individual will be involved in developed methods and protocols for cell therapy relevant cells utilizing best-in-class platforms and advanced analytics with a mindset for continuous improvements.

What will you do?

  • Utilize skills for processing of cells from primary tissue using a variety of automated, semi-automated and modular processing systems
  • Derive and expand stem cells, generate qualified cell banks.
  • Adapt and execute processes in bench scale and large-scale culture systems for scale up and scale out
  • Perform various types of cell modification with viruses, plasmid DNA and other gene editing platforms.
  • Perform evaluation of new methods, processes, techniques, and technology platforms
  • Plan and execute experiments; generate protocols and methods; address and resolve technical issues record and report data
  • Develop methods and SOPs to help build Master control modules. Assist with necessary technical frameworks required to roll our translational services for cell therapy
  • Strong team-work with other scientists and functional partners
  • Work in a matrix environment, interact externally and internally across technical teams, divisions, and functions; collaborate with clients, and support translational services

How will you get here?
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biochemical Engineering, Bioprocessing, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, and/or Molecular Biology with 2+ years of relevant hands-on experience.

Experience
  • Technical proficiency in mammalian cell culture, advanced cell systems and cell modification.
  • Cross-functional communication, and accountability, ability to prioritize and deliver on sophisticated processes/projects.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge and hands on experience with advanced mammalian cell culture with primary and stem cells.
  • Hands-on experience with cell biology techniques and cellular assays.
  • Strong communication, receptive to suggestions and feedback, highly collaborative with the ability to adapt to change, work within a team to effect performance

The salary range estimated for this position is $70,000 - $90,000. This position will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. Actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
