The purpose of this job is to assist the lab of Stem Cell and Functional Genomics in Psychiatry at the Center for Psychiatric Genetics in accomplishing short-term projects. The lab is conducting functional genomics research of psychiatry using human induced pluripotent stem cells as a model. The goal is to understand the molecular and neurobiological basis of schizophrenia and other brain disorders. The laboratory work will involve iPSC culture, neuron differentiation, open chromatin mapping, CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, assaying functional effect of genetic perturbation on gene expression and cellular phenotypes in iPSC-derived neurons. The candidate is expected to mainly assist with the projects led by postdoctoral researchers and other scientists. He or she may also develop independent pilot project related to CRIPSR/Cas9 editing. This job requires to work 40 hours a week for about 6-10 weeks.

Minimum Formal Education Required:
Must be at least 16 years of age; with skills and knowledge of molecular biology and cellular biology, undergraduate degree or undergraduate students.

Minimum Length and Nature of Experience Required:
Some research experience preferred but not required.
Special Knowledge and Skills Required:
Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Basic computer skills. Familiar with MS Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Knowledge of molecular biology, genetics and/or cellular biology
