Seasonal Public Works Worker Openings
City of Waite Park is hiring for Seasonal Public Works Workers for this Summer!
Do you like working outside? Are you a student or retiree looking for a summer job? This is a full-time seasonal position working 40 hours week, Monday through Thursday 10 hour shifts. (Starting in May and ending in September.) Starting pay is $16.00 per hour.
Job Summary:
As a Seasonal Public Works Worker, you will be assigned to work in the Public Works Department. Work may consist of mowing and trimming grass, spraying weeds, picking up brush and debris, trimming trees, plants, and shrubs, installing landscaping, and working in buildings, parks, and park facilities, assisting full time staff with various road repairs projects, i.e. repair, painting and patching. This position will also operate a non-commercial truck or vehicle, operates a variety of hand tools and small equipment in performance of assigned tasks at our Public Works facility. The primary responsibilities for this position will be performed approximately 90% of the time outdoors. Exposure to heat and inclement weather.
Qualifications:
Eligible Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid MN Drivers License.
Physical Requirements:
Walking, standing, sitting, lifting 75 pounds occasionally and bending to a significant degree. Medium physical requirements.
This position will not be eligible for benefits.
