Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing office automation software to develop correspondence; reviewing correspondence to ensure accuracy; and maintaining office records in areas such as: time and attendance, payroll and/or leave records.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Selective Placement Factor: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).

Duties
- Receive calls and visitors and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff member.
- Maintain and control the calendar and schedule appointments for the Principal and Assistant Principal.
- Maintain time and attendance records to ensure timely submissions to payroll.
- Performs a variety of administrative and clerical duties unique to the school.
