ROLE SUMMARY
The Senior Accountant is an organized and highly motivated team player with strong initiative and communication skills, a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”), and the ability to apply GAAP to standard and moderately complex business transactions.
The Senior Accountant conducts financial activities, including assistance with day-to-day transactions, month-end, quarter-end and year-end close, preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and management reports, external audit support, process improvement activities, and other special projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare accounting journal entries to support the day-to-day financial activities.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring transactions are reported correctly in accordance with GAAP, internal accounting policies and procedures, and timely performed based on the monthly closing schedule.
- Research and resolve reconciling issues and discrepancies and take corrective measures to prevent in the future.
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with GAAP and internal policies and procedures.
- Identify, recommend and initiate process improvements and enhancements.
- Provide supporting documentation and key contact for internal and external auditors.
- Working in partnership with FP&A, assist in developing expense budgets and budget/estimate projection updates.
- Work on special projects as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in Public Accounting is a plus
- ERP systems knowledge
- Advanced Excel knowledge is a must
- Experience and knowledge of intercompany accounting and foreign currency
- Experience with external audits
- Experience working and coordinating with others in different geographic locations preferred
SKILLS
- Strong financial and analytical skills.
- Must be a multitasker, with the ability to work on several requests simultaneously without losing focus.
- Organization and initiative, good communications skills, proactive, problem-solving, time management, discretion, and confidentiality are essential attributes.
- Ability to build good relationships. There will be frequent contact with internal and external people, either face to face or by telephone or email.
- Strong attention to detail.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
TRAVEL
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Five years of public and/or private accounting experience required
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Per state law, must be at least 21 years of age.
Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check.
Must pass a drug screening
