About the Job

As a Senior Analyst at BWAM, you will contribute to the valuation analytics team, with a focus on the valuation process of a pool of investments across different property types. This role will continue to enhance a robust analytics platform and fulfill ad hoc data requests from internal and external clients. This role is an exciting opportunity to be exposed to a variety of property types, investment structures and markets across the U.S.

Ideal candidates will have the necessary technical knowledge in commercial real estate valuation and appraisal methodologies. Successful candidates also regularly build relationships both internally and externally. They hold themselves and others to high standards of success.

Responsibilities

• Analyze market dynamics and financial conditions of real estate assets, evaluate business plans, adjust financial statements
• Assist in preparing and reviewing financial models, including discounted cash flow analyses and equity waterfall templates using ARGUS Enterprise and Excel
• Facilitate the third-party appraisal process as determined by client requirements, including review and audit of appraisals, and writing review comments with market support for findings
• Extract and roll up valuation-related data to support fund-level analyses
• Summarize and present valuation analyses and assumptions by extracting cash flows and key assumptions from ARGUS
• Abstract legal documents such as joint venture agreements and loan documents
• Perform ad hoc financial analyses

Qualifications

BWAM seeks to hire entrepreneurial individuals who are highly motivated, mature and intelligent, with demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. The successful candidate should have:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Knowledge in ARGUS Enterprise is a plus but not required.
• Fluency in property-level financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement and rent rolls analysis
• Basic understanding of commercial real estate appraisal process and methodologies (DCF, sales comparison and cost approaches)
• Basic knowledge of third-party market research platforms/databases
• Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments and manage rapidly changing assignments in a team environment
• Strong analytical skills and detailed oriented
• Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field required

• Investment- and Fund-level Reforecasting: BWAM is responsible for creating proprietary investment-level valuation models for the portfolio to enhance our ability to reforecast investment-and fund-level performance on a routine basis.
