This role is responsible for the design, development, and deployment of advanced analytics solutions supporting Chamberlain Group’s strategic business priorities. The Senior Data Scientist will create and train statistical models and machine learning algorithms and provide insights, user-friendly tools, and capabilities to enable data-driven decisions by business stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Identify best analytical techniques to achieve Business Unit objectives; design, develop, and deploy advanced analytics solutions, including predictive and prescriptive outputs, analytical tools, and visualization capabilities to enable business users to make data-driven decisions
  • Execute analytic activities supporting solution development, including data gathering, cleansing, and integration, statistical transformation and modeling, and feature engineering and selection
  • Apply analytical techniques, including linear/non-linear models, clustering, optimization, forecasting, machine learning, and neural networks
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and advanced analytics business partners to understand business needs and to identify and define advanced analytics solutions; effectively communicate results
  • In collaboration with Lead Data Scientists, develop innovative solutions through deep understanding of internal and external data
  • Create appropriate standards and processes to ensure quality and consistency of Advanced Analytics solutions
  • Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams
  • Protect Chamberlain Group’s reputation by keeping information confidential
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, econometrics, engineering, or other quantitative field of study
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience
  • Strong knowledge of advanced statistics and machine learning methods, including regression, classification, time series analysis, network analysis, clustering, simulation, dimension reduction
  • Proficient in using SQL and Python or R to process and analyze data and create data visualizations
  • Working knowledge of distributed computer tools (e.g., Databricks, Apache Spark)
  • Experience in manipulating, analyzing, and interpreting large-scale data
  • Working knowledge of scaling analytics in the cloud (e.g., Azure)
  • Experience writing and speaking about technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Able to initiate and drive projects to completion
Preferred Requirements
  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in statistics, mathematics, econometrics, engineering, or other quantitative field of study
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies
  • Experience in data visualization tools (e.g., Qlik, Power BI)
