Responsibilities:

• Overarching responsibility for development projects.
• Evaluate project planning/ schedule of all Engineering tasks required to complete projects and evaluate resource needs and durations for those projects.
• Assign the right resources for each project.
• Monitor project deadlines.
• Review project and development effort budgets
• Mentor project resources to ensure tasks are completed on time, within budget, and with a high level of quality.
• Coordinate / lead / coach / train Engineers
• Focus on process improvements.
• Ensure that new designs are safe, cost effective, dependable, and easy to service.
• Support the organization when engineering related questions arise.
• Resolve problems through root cause analysis; identifying trends; determining system improvements.
• Work with subcontractors and outside specialists when needed.
• Participate in customers’ meetings to improve their processes and usage of their equipment.
• Assist sales efforts as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

• 
  This position requires a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, a master’s degree is preferred.
• 7+ years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering
• Successful experience leading development projects
• Strong analytical and documentation skills required.
• The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and people skills, the ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have excellent time management skills. Must have the ability to be proactive and drive change.
• Up to 15% travel including international.
• Proven leadership
• Experience leading through KPIs.
• Working knowledge of ME, EE and control systems

• 
  2D and 3D modeling in Solid Works or something comparable.
• Experience with root cause corrective action tools and processes such as 8D, FMEA, 5 Whys, Fishbone, FTA etc.
• Experience in Product Data Management systems (PDM), preferably Team Center
• Ability to develop and review test plans.
• Proven history of project success by overcoming obstacles.
• Understanding/experience of ANSI, UL, OSHA, IBC, and other industry codes and requirements.
• Understanding/experience of ASME and CE or other international standards
• Familiar with Lean and/or Six Sigma methods
• Experience of hydraulic engineering, stress analysis and high strength materials
• Manufacturing methods including welding and sheet metal bending.
