Job Description
- This role is either local to Salt Lake City, UT with three on-site days per week, or a remote role requiring bi-annual trips to the Corporate Office in Salt Lake City, UT.
The Senior Financial Analyst will be required to support various leaders within the organization by providing analytical and strategic financial reporting, analysis, and recommendations. To succeed, this individual will utilize both relationship building and strong analytical skillsets to maintain current and develop forecasts to drive business effectiveness and efficiency across the organization.
The Corporate FP&A team is responsible for partnering with Overstock leadership on financial-related aspects of the business. The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting with the budget and forecast process, providing monthly performance reporting, assisting with financial data mining, and leading numerous ad hoc analyses for Senior Leadership, the Board of Directors, and other business partners. The candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the success of Overstock.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic partner and primary financial contact to leaders throughout the organization.
- Develops and produces high quality analytics and presentation materials for Senior Leadership, Board of Directors, and other business partners.
- Financial data mining, modeling, and analytics to identify strategic opportunities, support new initiatives, and measure progress on critical organizational goals.
- Present, defend and negotiate business plans to management.
- Prepares internal financial statements for business partners.
- Ensures timely and accurate reporting including variances to annual operating plan, forecasts, and prior year performance.
- Provides analytical support on various special projects to help inform important financial decisions.
- Work with data source providers and technology teams to ensure that key data is accurate and timely.
- Participate in annual planning and monthly forecasting processes.
Skills
- 3+ years relevant FP&A related work experience.
- Strong understanding of general ledger/P&L knowledge
- Familiarity with business segment/category forecasting and planning
- Strong command of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Financial Planning Systems.
- Ability to synthesize data into actionable insights and communicate resulting strategy changes to audiences at all levels.
- Strategic skills required to conceptualize, communicate, and execute weekly, monthly and annual deliverables.
- Experience working with large-scale data reporting tools such as SQL, Hyperion planning (Essbase), Oracle ERP, Business Intelligence Tools, and other database management systems.
- Highly analytical, detail oriented and strong business sense; proven ability to find creative solutions and manage to result.
- Strong written and oral communicative skills with demonstrated ability to operate effectively at all levels within a dynamic organization.
- Flexible team player willing to take on additional responsibility and work to meet deadlines.
- Strong time management skills and effectively able to prioritize tasks as needed.
- Enjoys a challenging and fast-paced work environment.
Base Pay Range:
$76,000 - $95,000 per year

Physical Requirements:
This position requires you to sit, stand and perform general office functions. You may also be required to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Bending, stooping and reaching are also frequently required.
