Job Title: Senior IT Security Policy Specialist

Work Location

· Washington, DC.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field

· Minimum of 5 years of direct demonstrated experience in IT security policy development, implementation, and compliance management

· Subject Matter Expert (SME) applying and implementing NIST SP 800 series and OMB guidance

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop and present executive-level briefings, reports, and memos

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and implement effective cybersecurity risk management strategies

· Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

· Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are highly desirable

Responsibilities:

· Develop and update cybersecurity policies and procedures in accordance with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and organizational needs

· Implement and maintain security controls to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures

· Develop and maintain Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) to track remediation of security vulnerabilities and deficiencies

· Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies

· Collaborate with stakeholders to establish cybersecurity governance and compliance requirements and ensure adherence to established policies and procedures

· Develop strategic communications, executive briefings, reports, and memos to effectively communicate cybersecurity risks, compliance posture, and mitigation strategies to senior leadership

· Stay up-to-date with emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, and regulations to inform policy development and compliance efforts
