Senior SEO Specialist

We're on the hunt for an A player marketing director for our franchise brand. The candidate must be self-driven and self-managing. You will be working with franchise business owners to create, optimize and drive forward their marketing plans and budgets, monitor costs and revenue and identify opportunities for growth and weak areas for improvement. You will coordinate with marketing fulfillment to implement and improve your plans and you’ll be expected to know the brand well enough to contribute strategy to all brand building initiatives.

Are you the right person?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field
  • 5+ Years local / SMB SEO experience
  • 5+ Years enterprise SEO experience
  • 5+ Years technical SEO experience including Schema, page speed optimizations, mobile optimizations, website UX
  • 5+ Years Google analytics, tag manager and search console experience
  • Google analytics 4, tag manager and search console certifications
  • Technical SEO certifications
  • Adept in HTML / CSS and wordpress
  • Experience working with IT/Dev to create and service APIs and similar systems integrations and for page load speed and technical SEO issue fixes

Roles and Responsibilities

You are responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and digital distribution of franchise location information in our digital environments (local listings directories, Facebook Business Manager Pages, Google Business Profiles, Yext, Uberall, etc.). You will ensure all location information is being accurately displayed by the websites and other digital entities.

What You’ll Do:

  • Resolve all technical and other SEO issues, errors, warnings
  • Create processes, systems and reports to facilitate robust and thorough SEO
  • Reduce mobile page load speed to under 2 seconds for all pages
  • Assist the implementation of systems and processes to facilitate local listing accuracy and effectiveness
  • Improve local listing capabilities
  • Perform ongoing keyword discovery, expansion and optimization
  • Research and implement search engine optimization recommendations
  • Research and analyze competitor advertising links
  • Develop and implement link building strategy
  • Work with the development team to ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented on newly developed code
  • Work with editorial and marketing teams to drive SEO in content creation and content programming
  • Recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords
  • Manage both on-site and off-site SEO for both the company and clients.
  • Collaborate with the content team to create high-quality content around important, relevant terms.
  • Manage of organic search engine performance and goal-setting based on site impressions, click-through rates, traffic, and conversions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and changes with SEO and major search engines.
  • Establish key benchmarks which indicate performance goals to meet customer business objectives.
  • Utilize SEO strategy to increase conversion rates, domain authority, linking domains and Mozrank.
  • Develop performance reports to analyze and monitor SEO strategy effectiveness.
  • Utilize the inbound methodology to target key personas with keyword research.
  • Collaborate with copywriters to manage keyword density.
  • Improve customer’s search rankings within the competitive SEO landscape.
  • Optimize and/or implement Page Titles, Meta Descriptions, Meta Keywords, Image ALT Tags, load times and 301 redirects for new and existing web pages.
  • Review website content index, wireframes, comps and copy drafts to align with SEO best practices.
  • Identify search engine barriers that could impacts customer’s ranking negatively.
  • Perform regularly scheduled audits of websites to identify areas of opportunity.
  • Research and provide recommendations for selective directory submission to enhance search exposure.
  • Maintain onsite and offsite inbound linking strategies.
  • Adhere to project schedules and scope requirements.
  • Work with Revenue team to ensure our own SEO is fully optimized and meeting ROI requirements.
  • Be the subject matter expert for local listings in the digital department, maintaining 10+ brand sites and thousands of franchisees
  • Oversee tracking and reporting on traffic sourced from local listings
  • Work closely with IT/Dev to guide data integration projects related to location information
  • Initial setup and verification of Google Business Profiles and other local accounts and pages
  • Daily monitoring and Quality Checking of GBP accounts
  • Provide support for Facebook Business Manager/Google Business Profile issues
  • Maintain new process for franchisees to make changes to their location’s information
  • Collaborate with Content & Local SEO teams, Account Managers and Digital Strategists to achieve resolutions to local listing issues
  • Work with Brand Manager to help Franchisees ensure all attributes for their Brand location(s) are up to date and propagating to all digital environments properly
  • Work with development teams to ensure websites are properly integrated with the single system of truth to provide the most up to date information on locations
  • Assist with working relationships for multiple departments and franchisees

Other Expectations

Familiarity with the creative side of marketing and design is important. A director of marketing must have excellent communication skills — whether it's for pitching new franchise owners or writing customer lifetime value reports. The ability to garner consensus from a large team is important and obtaining stakeholder buy-in on new, complex or challenging ideas is essential. Soft skills such as good attention to detail, versatility and leadership abilities also rank high on the list of desired qualities for a manager at this level.

The best marketing directors are able to work cooperatively and effectively with different personality types as well as other departments, vendors and clients. They can transition seamlessly among projects of varying scale, audience, format and distribution channel. Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
