About the Team
Welcome to the Reporting team in Workday Analytics! This team is responsible for enhancing and scaling the reporting and analytics platform for large volumes of transactions for critically important business needs, interactive analytics and background extractions.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineering Manager with a strong background in building large scale systems. You will be responsible for multiple complex initiatives associated with building a reporting engine that scales for Workday’s large financial customers.
You will also be responsible for:

Growing and developing a group of highly skilled, passionate software engineers

Fostering a culture of collaboration with engineering and product leaders to set technical direction on requirements and scope
-
Devising and delivering the technical strategy for your project areas
-
Coaching engineering managers on your team
-
Partnering with cross functional leaders and delivering the project milestones together
-
Set team-level and engineering best practices
About You
Basic Requirements:
-
5+ years experience in a software engineering management role
Other Requirements:
-
Proven experience in delivering large scale software products and services
-
Great communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
-
Strong industry experience in building highly scalable solutions and backend engineering
-
Experience in working with distributed systems
-
Experience leading highly motivated engineering teams
-
Ability to influence best engineering practices through solid decision making, processes and tools
-
Experience in effectively working with cross-functional organizations
-
Proven ability to recruit and mentor high performing teams of engineers.

Experience with Java
