This role in summary

Whirlpool is currency seeking a qualified candidate for the role a Senior Sourcing Specialist opening to join our Global Strategic Sourcing organization. This role will be located at the Whirlpool Riverview Campus, in Benton Harbor, MI.

Employees in this role can work a hybrid schedule of three core days in office and two days remote. This enables employees to come together to collaborate in-person and gives employees the added flexibility to work remotely.

Today, you might be working on a supply agreement. Tomorrow, you'll be creating a commodity strategy for the globe, and aligning with counterparts in other regions, process partners and senior leaders. You will also be communicating strategies and meeting with senior leaders in sourcing council on strategy, sourcing awards, and/or supplier exit strategies.

Your responsibilities will include

• 
  Develop and implementing 1-3 year category sourcing strategies to drive direction and results for the assigned integrated business unit, including an analysis of the best potential sources
• Support procurement competencies to manage category activities like:
• • Lead and managing contract negotiations between Whirlpool and its suppliers
  • Develop, align and approve contracts, including assessing and aligning all business and legal risks
  • Managing supplier pay terms in adherence to Whirlpool policy
  • Building accountability for supplier performance relative to contracted service levels;

• 
  Develop collaborative working relationships with suppliers and business/product teams
• Lead iand supporting supply base management activities of existing and new product suppliers for assigned categories and business unit
• Support all business needs related to the finished products (i.e. loading and managing PO pricing, supporting availability needs, supporting resolution of quality issues, managing contracts, etc.)
• Support and owning any supply base issues or payment issues that cannot be solved by the supply chain groups
• Participate in product group meetings and reviews, interacting with those groups as a member of their team, driving productivity projects with the product teams
• Lead sourcing for multiple new product launches within the Consumable Product Group ensuring the projects launch on-time, cost and quality; and Verify spend analysis, market insights and total cost of ownership for sourced products

Minimum requirements

• 
  Bachelor's Degree
• 3+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain

Preferred skills and experiences

• 
  Bachelor's Degree in Procurement/Supply Chain or Engineering
• 3+ years of commercial / negotiation experience
• Demonstrat practical use of supplier management and sourcing principles
• Negotiation, conflict resolution and management skills
• Build strong rapport and relationships with internal process partners and Suppliers
• Analytical and computer related skills
• Manage and prioritize multiple key activities
• Potential and work ethic for future growth
