Purpose of Position:
The Senior Technical Accountant is responsible for ensuring Sportsman’s Warehouse complies with US GAAP in all respects for financial reporting purposes. Including assisting with the production of periodic SEC reporting, financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results. This position will report to the Director of Accounting.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversees accounting for the company’s leases in accordance with ASC 842
• Responsible for ensuring the proper accounting of revenue from contracts, service programs, warranties, principal vs agent sales and all company owned websites ensuring compliance under ASC 606
• Assists with SEC reporting, including 10K’s, 10Q’s, 8K’s and other required filings
• Ensures proper treatment of company inventories following guidance from ASC 330
• Accounts for all equity transactions including RSU’s, PSU’s, treasury stock, retained earnings, etc.
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience
• Experience in auditing, accounting, and corporate finance
• Strong knowledge of financial software and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

Education/Experience:

• A Master’s degree in Accounting required
• At least two years of audit experience with publicly traded entities

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Certified Public Accountant license required

• The employee may be required to exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity at 20 inches or less due to computer work
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will experience a moderate noise level (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic)
