We are looking for a Shift Supervisor to oversee restaurant operations, including welcoming and serving customers. Shift Supervisor responsibilities include delegating tasks to counter staff, addressing diners’ queries and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. If you have excellent organizational and team management skills and experience in the food industry, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you will help us create a memorable experience for our guests and increase our profitability.
Responsibilities
- Delegate tasks to counter staff and supervise their performance
- Provide leadership to new and returning staff using effective communication techniques.
- Maintain a fully stocked inventory and update shopping lists as needed.
- Complete daily checklists, weekly checklists and inform the next Shift Supervisor about pending tasks
- Arrange to have shifts covered (e.g., when employees call off)
- Help staff resolve on-the-job challenges
- Train new staff in all shop responsibilities as delegated by management
- Monitor food safety regulations
- Open or close the restaurant (when responsible for the first or last shift)
- Balance the cash register at the end of the shift
- Report maintenance and training needs
Skills
- Proven experience as a supervisor or relevant role in a restaurant
- Good knowledge of restaurant operations
- Availability to work different shifts, including weekends
- A customer service approach with the ability to manage complaints with professionalism
- Excellent organizational skills
- Team management abilities
