SUMMARY

This position is responsible for moving, delivering, and storing a variety of materials, as well as operating and maintaining material grinders.
POSITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Responsibilities:

• Follows all safety procedures and work as safe as possible at all times.
• Adheres to established cGMP guidelines, processes and procedures.
• Gathers, weighs and blends materials.
• Maintains supply of virgin resin, regrind and preforms, to machines.
• Retrieves carts filled with scrap/regrind plastic from various work cells throughout the production area.
• Grinds material
• Assists in purging machines and cleaning magnets in the hopper throat.
• Performs natural or color changes on production machines.
• Responsible for monitoring grinders, augers and vacuum units.
• Un-jams grinders.
• Documents end of shift weights and locations of sold scrap and regrind.
• Helps monitor inventory levels and advise supervision of low volumes.
• Maintains a clean work area.
• Maintains a positive and respectful work atmosphere.
• Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
• Completes all other duties as assigned.

Marginal Responsibilities:

• May relieve personnel for meal and rest breaks as necessary.
• Discard used gaylords and lids at the designated area in warehouse.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Requires basic knowledge of arithmetic, spelling, English, and grammar equivalent to a high school education.

Competencies, which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position:

• Language: Perform reading, writing and speaking at a basic level.
• Mathematical: Perform the basic functions of arithmetic; add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure.
• Reasoning: Ability to deal with problems involving standardized situations.

Machines, Tools, Equipment, Software and Work Aids, which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position:

Calculator, tumbler, scale, cardboard baler, stretch wrapper, forklift.

License(s)/Certification(s) Required: Forklift certification.

Physical/Visual Activities or Demands: Physical/visual activities or demands that are commonly associated with the performance and the responsibilities of this job.

• Standing, walking, bending, lifting, moving, talking, hearing, pushing, carrying, reaching, and grasping.
• Flow of work and character of duties involve normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination; or part time concentrated attention and coordination.
• Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more, the ability to bring objects into sharp focus, to judge distance and space relationships and to identify and distinguish colors.
• Medium to heavy work - exerts up to up to 50 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Uses hand truck or forklift to move heavier items.
• May require standing for long periods of time and repetitious motions.

• Forklift: 2 years (Preferred)
