Essential Duties:

Reporting to the Iron Shop Foreman, this position will teach the overall job functions of the Iron Shop in a controlled environment. Iron shop personnel are responsible for in-house servicing and recertifying oil and gas production and flowback equipment

• Review and follow all operating procedures in a safe manner.
• Disassemble and provide maintenance of various types of production testing valves.
• Learn the recertification band color code.
• Gain a general knowledge of the rebuild and pressure test areas.
• Learn hands-on mechanical functions, grinding, cleaning, and minor repairs.
• Learn the identifying characteristics of all types of high-pressure parts (i.e., pressure rating, size, manufacture, union type, serial number, asset number)
• Learn the differences between all levels of inspection/ recertification (visual, LEVEL 1, LEVEL2)
• Communicate with other Iron Shop team members, reporting any issues.
• Complete daily job safety analysis documents with the iron shop team each morning.
• Operate forklifts to move equipment or materials to and from storage/repair areas.
• Perform all duties in a safe manner, observing safe work practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment.

Requirements:

• EDUCATION: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• EXPERIENCE: 0-2 years' experience
• LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: TETRA will provide all necessary training, including Safeland, First Aid, CPR, Forklift, Defensive Driving Course, and client-specific safety training
• OTHER:
• Moderate mechanical abilities
• Capable of performing continuous physical labor
• You must be 21 to drive for TETRA and have own reliable transportation
• Typical weekdays 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Weekend rotation and some weekday after-hours needed, 12+ hours shift qualify for a per diem, working weekends qualifies for paid travel and per diem

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will wear iron shop-approved uniforms, steel or carbon-toed boots, hard hats, safety eyewear, and any other necessary personal protective equipment.
