Essential Duties:
Reporting to the Iron Shop Foreman, this position will teach the overall job functions of the Iron Shop in a controlled environment. Iron shop personnel are responsible for in-house servicing and recertifying oil and gas production and flowback equipment
- Review and follow all operating procedures in a safe manner.
- Disassemble and provide maintenance of various types of production testing valves.
- Learn the recertification band color code.
- Gain a general knowledge of the rebuild and pressure test areas.
- Learn hands-on mechanical functions, grinding, cleaning, and minor repairs.
- Learn the identifying characteristics of all types of high-pressure parts (i.e., pressure rating, size, manufacture, union type, serial number, asset number)
- Learn the differences between all levels of inspection/ recertification (visual, LEVEL 1, LEVEL2)
- Communicate with other Iron Shop team members, reporting any issues.
- Complete daily job safety analysis documents with the iron shop team each morning.
- Operate forklifts to move equipment or materials to and from storage/repair areas.
- Perform all duties in a safe manner, observing safe work practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
Requirements:
- EDUCATION: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- EXPERIENCE: 0-2 years' experience
- LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: TETRA will provide all necessary training, including Safeland, First Aid, CPR, Forklift, Defensive Driving Course, and client-specific safety training
- OTHER:
- Moderate mechanical abilities
- Capable of performing continuous physical labor
- You must be 21 to drive for TETRA and have own reliable transportation
- Typical weekdays 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Weekend rotation and some weekday after-hours needed, 12+ hours shift qualify for a per diem, working weekends qualifies for paid travel and per diem

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will wear iron shop-approved uniforms, steel or carbon-toed boots, hard hats, safety eyewear, and any other necessary personal protective equipment.
