What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join our team. This is a challenging and rewarding role that leads the technological side of our business strategies. The Software Engineering Manager works collaboratively with IT leadership and software and systems engineering teams to lead a portfolio of products and projects, including large systems efforts.

Occasional onsite work will be required. For this reason candidates should live in Texas. Apex may offer a relocation for those wishing to relocate to the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Responsibilities

• Manage a software engineering team. Schedule, instruct, and prioritize the work of direct reports, as well as provide opportunities to others through appropriate delegation.
• Assist in developing architecture, technologies, methodologies, and accountability for designated portfolio.
• Oversee a portfolio of products and projects designed to improve overall efficiency and business processes. Schedule and design large system efforts.
• Assist IT Leadership with budget requirements and planning.
• Coordinate with Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, and outside vendors to ensure that software and licensing requirements are met.
• Provide support to maximize uptime and stability of Apex’s technology solutions including websites, databases, applications, servers, and data.

Education/Experience/Training

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience, including the formal or informal leadership of IT staff.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in software development, project management, or architecture, required.
• Significant experience working with coding languages (Java, C, .Net, or similar), object-oriented design, automation, web and/or mobile applications development, and Agile methodologies, strongly preferred.
