Sous Chef Job at La Boca Restaurant
SOUS CHEF
La Boca is a well established restaurant downtown that has been a staple in Santa Fe dining for 16 years.
We are looking for a strong leader to join our culinary team, We someone with a minimum our 5 years of sous chef or kitchen management experience to help manage a kitchen staff of 20 people . The Sous Chef will help with kitchen safety and sanitation, quality control and recipe execution , maintaining strong communication with all management staff and front of house staff. The Sous Chef will also assist with special events and catering . Must be knowledgeable in maintaining projected food and labor costs.
Requirements:
- Understanding of kitchen etiquette.
- Must be able to work underneath Sous Chef and Executive Chef to offer support where needed.
- Minimum of 5 year kitchen experience.
- Knowledge of Spanish food and ingredients - this is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication skills (via phone, email and in-person).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability keep station clean and organized during service.
- Good physical condition to walk and stand during an entire shift and to work in the heat of the kitchen.
- Schedule flexibility (we cannot guarantee a set schedule).
- Positive attitude.
- Works well in a team setting.
- Genuine love of food and cooking.
Hours/Pay
This is a full time position we offer $18 - $20 starting per hour for all Line/Prep Cooks. Starting wage is based on expirience.
