Sous Chef Job at The Kismet Table
The Kismet Table is a fresh response to dining. Our open kitchen space is set up for private events, from four to forty. We also have an everchanging take-away menu that is updated weekly and often based on what is perfectly in season. To round out the experience, we offer a carefully curated retail and gourmet food space and are developing our own line of house-made goods. We are launching both a public dinner series and culinary classes at Kismet next month.
We are looking for a unicorn. We’re growing like crazy and we need someone to help keep this ship working seamlessly. Are you skilled in quick kitchen prep and also quick with a helpful smile for front of house? Are you easygoing yet neurotic in the best way? Are you kind? Can you keep your ego in check and work as a team? Are you excited to collaborate on menus, marketing ideas & keep the creative juices flowing?
This true Sous Chef position requires high levels of organization, cleanliness, speed, task-oriented focus & creativity. You will be the right hand to Chef Taryn, who is very much present daily as she runs both the kitchen and retail. Ability to guide fellow kitchen staff at times while still taking direction in stride is a must.
Occasional serving/ FOH assistance is required. As an open kitchen, chefs must enjoy chatting with customers and be willing to jump in to assist retail when needed. This is a highly collaborative space.
This labor of love and lifelong dream was created to offer solace and inspiration about the things we missed so much during Covid- the din of a beautiful meal with friends in a gorgeous space. We hope to bring on someone who can help keep the Kismet pipeline working smoothly and maintain a kind, respectful & creative atmosphere.
Hours and days are flexible: mostly daytime with 2-4 evenings per month. We will consider full or part-time committments.
