The AvantGarde, LLC (AG) Special Assistant to the Chief Diversity Officer supports AG’s client the United States Capitol Police (USCP) Acts as Special Assistant to the Chief Diversity Officer, representing the IDEA/ Equity and Inclusion Office at pre-determined meetings on behalf of the Chief Diversity Officer to take notes or provide input into pertinent discussions.
The WORK
- Serves as Office Manager for the IDEA/Equity and Inclusion Office, managing the office budget, providing projections of expenditures, serving as the main point of contact for the design and implementation of/transition to modified office space and liaison between Facilities representatives and AOC counterparts, and serving as main POC for IDEA/Equity and Inclusion with other USCP representatives to coordinate the activities of the office.
- Manages calls within the IDEA/Equity and Inclusion Office and coordinates calendar requests for the Chief Diversity Officer.
- Conducts analysis of data including representation, attrition, or accession data from OHR to develop summaries and determine trends and/or areas of interest or concern for further recommendations and actions.
- Prepares a variety of reports, analyses, talking points and other briefing materials for distribution to the Executive team, Congressional representatives, Board, or other senior management officials within and outside of the Department.
- Serves as a welcoming “face” to the IDEA/Equity and Inclusion Office both in-person and virtually by receiving visitors and appropriately, taking and addressing phone calls from customers, ensuring an accurate and coherent image of IDEA/Equity and Inclusion on various USCP websites and virtual platforms, reviewing content to ensure accuracy, modifying content to align with current initiatives or activities, and coordinating content updates with other IDEA/Equity and Inclusion staff members and PIO or other Department representatives.
The REQUIREMENTS
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study, and 5+ years of experience as an Office Manager Administrative Officer or similar positions coordinating significant activities of an organization.
- Experience working in a Diversity and Inclusion/EEO organization.
- Excellent analytical skills to review data, prepare summary reports, determine trends/patterns, identify areas of issue or concern and make recommendations.
- Superb written skills to develop cohesive briefing materials or talking points that will be subject to external scrutiny and consumption.
- Superior oral communication skills to represent the Chief Diversity Officer in meetings, coordinate effectively between Departmental offices on behalf of IDEA/Equity and Inclusion, and handle customer inquiries effectively.
- Skilled at n handling sensitive data, discussions, and information to maintain complete confidentiality and protection of personally identifiable information.
