Odyssey Learning Center is a private non-profit school who serves children and adults with autism. We are an organization of dedicated people who know how exciting and rewarding it is to help children/adults with autism achieve.
We are seeking a Teacher with a Mod/Severe credential. (We will consider mild/mod credential with autism added authorization).
We utilize a multi-dimensional teaching approach for communication, academic, and vocational skill training. We have a Behaviorist, Speech & Language, and Occupational therapist on site. We are seeking well organized teachers with energy and creativity.

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide instruction, assessment reports and program planning for special education students with autism
- Monitor and evaluate student progress toward IEP goals
- Develop proposed goals and prepare written summary of present levels of performance, define areas of needs and strengths for presentation at IEP meetings
- Develop and maintain quarterly progress reports and daily attendance records
- Develop materials/lessons to meet the needs of each student
- Work collaboratively with others including parents, co-workers, service providers etc.
- Supervise and mentor Instructional Aides
- Participate in meetings, in-services, and trainings as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality of all students and families
- Performs other reasonable related duties as assigned
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Have the ability to take direction and follow through with tasks assigned
- Have good judgement, tact, and ability to maintain the highest level of professionalism as a leader, a model to other staff members, and a representative of the organization
- Be familiar with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems, and working with nonverbal students
- Have collaborative team skills to effectively communicate, work with, and learn from others, maintaining a positive rapport with other staff members, administration, parents, community members.
Requirements:
- Bachelors is required
- Valid California Mod/Severe Special Education Teaching Credential (We will consider mild/mod credential with autism added authorization).
- Possess a valid California driver's license
- DOJ/FBI Live Scan background clearance
- Must pass a pre-employment physical
- TB Clearance
*SEIS experience preferred*
