The Licensed Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) is employed by Golden State TRIAD, LLC (a state certified non-public agency) and works within the Moreno Valley Unified School District.

The SLP performs services and consultation/outreach for District students receiving Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS). These services are provided at multiple individual school sites across the district.

Mileage reimbursement is provided outside of one’s daily travel to and from assigned office. Health, Vision and Dental benefits are offered. Sick time is provided.

Hours of Employment

  • 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week during the regular school year
  • Possible option of working during the Extended School Year, to be determined by student needs and staff availability and interest. (Between 185-205+ workdays per year.)

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university approved by the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board.
  • Current and unrestricted licensure in California
  • Possess Certificate of Clinical Competence granted by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual abilities
  • Behavioral or other contingency management experience
  • Previous experience working within a public-school or other educational setting

Essential Functions:

  • Provide direct services to students that qualify for SLP services
  • Provide consultation to staff, teachers, and parents seeking assistance in working with their identified students
  • Interact with all staff and students in a professional and ethical manner
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on educational plan goals, clinical experience and knowledge
  • Collaborate with other staff members to perform needed assessments and develop service recommendations
  • Attend IEP and 504 meetings and contribute to the goals and planning for the students
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of SLP services and student progress in resolving identified problems and moving towards defined objectives
  • Plan, prepare, and conduct in-service education for other school professionals on various topics that apply to students with Speech support needs
  • Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports
  • Complete all required District clinical documentation via electronic recordkeeping system within same day
  • Maintain confidentiality of records related to student treatment
  • Communicate and collaborate with other staff and family members as a means of effectively supporting students and strategies at home and school as to optimize the overall program and progress of the student
  • Designs, coordinates, and provides SLP services and programs for a variety of students and community populations
  • Perform other duties as assigned in line with requirements for credential and/or licensure

Other Requirements: Possess a valid California Driver’s License and maintain possession of such license during employment, fingerprinting with successful results with DOJ and FBI, negative TB test within 60 days of hire

  • Extended viewing of computer monitor
  • Working with and around office equipment having moving parts
  • Currently, in-person services (with safety protocols in place) are being provided. In person services will continue unless schools are shut down due to COVID or other unforeseen district mandates
