OPENING for the 2023/2024 School Year:Looking to be part of a dynamic team on beautiful Cape Cod?Riverview School, an independent coeducational boarding/day school, provides a caring community for adolescents and young adults with complex language, learning and cognitive disabilities. The School is committed to developing student competence and confidence in academic, social and independent living skills.Main Functions: - Assess, diagnose, treat, and help to prevent speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, fluency, and other related disorders- Provide clinical services to students with speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, fluency, and other related disordersEssential Job Functions:- Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues- Participate in team meetings, faculty meetings and IEP meetings- Implement curricula and activities to meet goals and objectives- Design and implement assessments that measure progress - Use assessment data to refine intervention and inform therapy practices- Be accountable for students mastery of goals- Provide small group and/or individual speech and language therapy for identified students- Effectively communicate diagnostic test results, diagnoses, present level of speech and language functioning and proposed treatment goals in a manner easily understood by students and their families- Use qualitative and quantitative assessment methods, including screenings, standardized tests, and special instruments, to analyze and diagnose the nature and extent of speech and language impairments- Develop an individualized plan of care, tailored to each students needs- Provide present levels of speech and language functioning and speech and language goals and objectives for students annual reviews- Maintain records on the initial evaluation, progress, and discharge of students to identify problems, track progress, and justify treatment- Produce quarterly progress reports describing progress towards IEP goals and present level of performance- Engage in ones learning; seek out and act on feedback regularly- Seek out and engage in continuing professional education to maintain ASHA membership and Massachusetts State licensure.Candidates must have the following:- Masters degree and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology and current ASHA membership.- Current license with the Massachusetts Board of Registration for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. - Knowledge of executive function, and social pragmatics programs, techniques, and materials- Exceptional written, interpersonal, and problem solving skills. - Strong technology skills.- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment with multiple demands. - Passion for Riverviews mission and the field of special education.
