Located a 1/2 mile from the Atlantic Ocean and 15 minutes from Portland, RSU#23 is a 675 student, three school district seeking a two day per week speech-language pathologist to join our speech and language team. The successful candidate should possess the following:

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Maine Speech-Language Pathologist license
  • Current and valid CHRC


RESPONSIBILITIES / QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY:

  • Provide services in both the mainstream and special education settings for students of all abilities
  • Conduct case management, including writing and maintaining compliant IEPs, as well as facilitating meetings
  • Determine need and administer appropriate assessments
  • Present evaluation results in a comprehensive manner and share results with team members, both orally and in written reports
  • Comply with all state and federal guidelines
  • Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and share best practices
  • Excellent communication with parents, teachers, administration, community leaders, and other stakeholders to promote and support student success
  • Demonstrated ability of understanding and supporting the academic, social, and emotional needs of students with varying needs
  • Interest in participating in the school community outside of the classroom
  • Exemplary time management and organizational skills
