POSITION SUMMARY

The Credit Risk Review function is responsible for providing an independent assessment, on a loan specific or portfolio-wide basis, of credit quality and corresponding potential loan or other loss exposure for the various loan portfolios and activities which create credit exposure within the bank, and monitors compliance with, and adequacy of, established business line and corporate policies and procedures. This position has the following key attributes:

  • Provides support for reviews by obtaining and analyzing data and providing insights on data trends and anomalies that help focus the scope of review engagements, increase coverage of what is examined in reviews engagements, automate testing results, and visualizations of data through the creation of reports.
  • Provides periodic and ad-hoc reports of the Credit Risk Review Department performance and status and support department leadership in developing new and existing reports.
  • Provides analytical support and report/presentation of required reporting.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

  • Produce and improve internal reporting through the use of available programming languages and data analytics tools and data visualization applications.
  • Automate CRR testing through data analytics and automation to support the audit teams.
  • Effectively interact with department colleagues and help establish the data analytics function as a valuable part of the CRR function.
  • Develop, automate, and monitor performance metrics for CRR that align to strategic objectives and are based on successful outcomes of departmental activities
  • Assist in the development of action-oriented dashboards and presentations, including the development of ad-hoc reporting, for the Risk Committee, Executive Management, and CRR senior leadership.
  • Provide reports on the status CRR cycles, annual review planning, issues tracking and support semi-annual risk assessment reporting.
  • Participate in reviews of various loan portfolios and activities that create credit risk. As a review participant:
  • Use credit and financial information to verify the continuing creditworthiness of existing customers. Assess adequacy of current risk ratings and accrual status.
  • Assess relationship manager compliance with bank policy.
  • Report on exceptions to established guidelines.
  • Verify the adequacy and completeness of credit files.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • 3–4 years of relevant experience in Risk Management, Credit and/or Credit Review.
  • Detail oriented and able to work well independently and within deadlines.
  • Financial statement analysis skills or equivalent course work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Access, and PowerPoint is required
  • Experience using Excel as a reporting tool, including advanced functionality (ex. Index/Match, Named Ranges, Array Formulas) is required
The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 to $95,000. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
