AECOM is seeking a Sr. Project Engineering Manager - Industrial Process Technology to be based in Austin, Texas. This position is an exciting opportunity to join one of AECOM’s most cutting-edge engineering groups. AECOM Process Technologies provides specialized, engineered solutions that advance environmental sustainability and overcome the regulatory and operational challenges facing industry today. We strive to provide process-based solutions with an often-innovative approach to traditional project delivery.
Our scope of services span from consulting to detailed design and from conceptual development through turnkey project delivery. Our expertise encompasses numerous environmentally focused areas: Air Pollution Control; Alternative Fuels; Carbon Capture & Sequestration; CCGT Modernization; Long-duration Energy Storage; PFAS Treatability; Process Development & Implementation; Site Remediation; Solid Waste & Byproduct Management; and Water Management and Wastewater Treatment. Typical projects are throughout North America and can range in value from $100,000 to $100,000,000, and can encompass all phases of project execution, including engineering, procurement, and construction.
Responsibilities include:
- Technical project leadership and decision responsibility with a focus on coordinated project execution between the engineering, procurement, and construction teams; maintain client relations, procurement and contractor coordination, and engineering team alignment. Ultimately accountable for technical project deliverables and project scope management.
- Assist the Project Manager to identify project risks, assess and develop mitigation plan(s).
- Work with Procurement to purchase engineered equipment and award construction subcontracts.
- Comply with AECOM quality control process
- Promote behavior-based safety in execution of project. Model and encourage safe work habits.
- Communicate information with project stakeholders.
- Develop clear and concise scope documents used for cost estimating and contract exhibits.
- Lead development of cost estimates for (individually or combinations of the items below):
- Engineering services.
- Equipment procurement.
- Construction.
- Identify project resource needs.
- Support development and updating of project schedules.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree plus eight years (8) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Registration Screening (MVR).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Four-year bachelor’s degree in engineering10+ years relevant experience
- Experience providing technical leadership on EPC (Engineer, Procurement, Construction) projects.
- Multi-discipline technical knowledge
- Ability to understand and communicate multi-discipline engineering concepts.
- Exhibit excellent leadership, oral and written communication skills.
- Exhibit excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
