Staff Accountant Job at Assa Abloy
Overview of Position: Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following duties.
Description of Duties/Responsibilities/Requirements:
- Prepare monthly journal entries for month-end close
- True up AR, AP & RNV; Prepaid amortization; Freight distribution; Installation accrual
- Misc inventory entries; Payroll entries; Sales tax EFT, Misc bank entries; Healthcare allocation
- General insurance allocation; Inter-co entries with Mexico
- Download bank statements and maintain and organize bank records
- Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts monthly; reconciles disbursement accounts
- Check and verify payroll journal entry data against register data
- Set up and maintain Address Book records in JDE (Vendor, Employee, Tax, Transportation Carrier, etc.)
- Review Inter-co aging and obtain related invoices from other locations accounting system (ERP)
- File sales tax returns accurately and timely; maintains sales tax records; Maintain prepaid account records
- Process misc credit memos and invoices; Assist with accounts payable
- Assist Controller and Senior Accountant in misc projects and analyses
- Cut–off Testing monthly; Create/maintain Z-file records; Create Interco aging (APS, Canada & Muskego)
- Assist with preparation and gathering data for audits; audits and maintains expense reports
- Review, investigate, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in entries, documents, and reports

- Requires education generally equivalent to an associate’s degree in business administration. A bachelor’s degree is a plus.
- Requires one to three years experience.
- Requires excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Requires the ability to function as a team member and contribute to group goals; Coaching, mentoring and team-building skills. - Requires proficiency in computer software including JDE Accounting Package and Microsoft Office.
- Requires the ability to use a variety of office equipment such as calculator, telephone, facsimile machine, photocopier, and a printer.
