Position Summary
The Staff Accountant will be expected to record cash receipts, reconcile balance sheet accounts, perform analytical procedures on income statement accounts, record journal entries, and prepare financial reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include working alongside Accounts Payable Manager and Controller, but are not limited to the following:
- Performing basic accounting procedures, e.g. A/R, A/P, time billing, P/R, G/L/ and tax payments
- Month-end and quarterly closing (e.g. balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements)
- Analyzing and reconciling general ledger accounts in conjunction with preparing quarterly reports for management
- Communicating with customers to address any past due invoices on their account
- Producing financial data for Controller/CFO upon request and assisting with other special accounting projects from time to time
- Performing analysis of operations on a monthly basis
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- One to two years of related experience
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Skilled in the use of MS Office applications, especially Excel
