Overview:
Incumbents in the Staff Assistant III position perform a variety of administrative support and/or secretarial duties in support of the Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) Clinic, Housing and Financial Counseling (HFC) Clinic, and the Child Development Lab (CDL) at Utah State University.
Responsibilities:
  • Performs office duties, including answering phones, directing calls to appropriate parties, data entry, filing, and other general duties as assigned.
  • Provides administrative support, including scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings/conferences, and maintaining/ordering office supplies.
  • Serves as a liaison with other departments and constituencies in the resolution of matters concerning the activities and operations of the department.
  • Sorts, screens, and distributes incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Composes and word-processes various standard documents, correspondence, and reports.
  • May update website content.
  • May provide business related support for departmental programs and projects.
  • Conducts research, compiles data, and prepares papers for consideration and presentation by executives, committees, and directors.
  • Assists students, staff, and superiors with highly varied, complex, and non-recurring questions and/or problems.
  • May work independently to provide high-level administrative support to a large or complex program.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Four years of experience; or an associate degree/technical training plus two years of experience; or a bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of education plus experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to work with faculty, staff, students, parents, and children
  • Demonstrated ability to work with FERPA records.
  • Experience with EZ Buy
  • Experience with p-cards
  • A working knowledge of Banner
