Supplier Material Planner

Automotive OEM Tier 1 Material Planner for Tier 2 Supplier Material

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor SAP Supplier release delivery dates and quantities and follow up with suppliers to ensure on time delivery of supplier material to the manufacturing plant
• Monitor material shortages and work with suppliers if unplanned replenishment material needs an expedite of inbound material
• Coordinates expedite inbound freight arrangements if needed for supplier material
• Monitor actual inventory levels to ensure they do not exceed target inventory levels
• Work with new program teams to establish safety stock and initial supplier releases for new part numbers
• Work with engineering change teams to balance out existing material and establish safety stock and initial supplier releases for new material change
• Monitor material that is phasing out to minimize or prevent obsolescence
• Create and issue logistics complaints to suppliers when there are performance issues
• Communicate exception requirements to suppliers if there is a sudden increase of decrease in customer demand or the need to increase material release quantities to support a customer bank build
• Maintains accurate record keeping and reporting utilizing SAP
• Operates a computer, calculator, copier, fax machine and standard office equipment
• Maintains an acceptable attendance record to ensure timely work completion
• Performs all activities in a professional and positive manner
• Must have knowledge of and adhere to the current Quality System requirements that relate to this job

YOUR PROFILE:

Education and/or experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Integrated Supply Management or Business Administration or, Associates degree and 2 years experience in supplier material planning or high school diploma and 4 years experience in supplier material planning

Required Skills:

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel
• Personal skills necessary to work in a cooperative, positive team approach

Preferred:

• Working knowledge of SAP Materials Management Module or related other MRP system knowledge

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 per year
